Daniel followed the mysterious woman through the twisting hallways of the underground facility, his mind racing with questions that had no answers. The flickering overhead lights cast long shadows across the cold, metallic walls, amplifying the eerie silence that surrounded them. “This is it,” she whispered, pushing the door open just enough for them to slip through.
Inside, the room was vast, lined with rows of high-tech equipment, screens displaying streams of data Daniel couldn’t begin to comprehend. The walls were covered in more of the strange symbols he had seen throughout the facility. At the center of the room, a large, circular console hummed with power, its center lit up by a glowing red symbol. The same one Daniel had seen throughout the tunnels.
Daniel stepped forward, his heart pounding as he took in the sight. It was clear now that this place wasn’t just a research facility—it was something far more sinister. But what was its true purpose? And why had they been drawing him into it?
The woman approached the console and began typing rapidly, bringing up a series of files and images on the screen. “This is what they’ve been hiding,” she muttered, her voice tense. “And now you’re in the middle of it.”
Daniel watched in silence as the woman manipulated the console, bringing up a series of documents that made his blood run cold. The images on the screen weren’t just technical data—they were files on people. On him. His name was on the screen, along with a detailed timeline of his recent activities, all of it monitored closely by whoever was behind this operation.
His stomach turned. “What is this?” he whispered.
Before she could answer, the hum of machinery around them grew louder. The lights flickered once, twice, and then the doors slammed shut behind them. A cold voice echoed through the room.
“You shouldn’t have come here.”
