Massive Sinkhole Appears On Family’s Land. What Police Find at the Bottom Leaves Everyone Frozen…

Chapter 11: The Unseen Hand

Daniel struggled against the grip that held him against the cold metal wall, his heart pounding in his chest. The air felt thick with tension, and the low hum of the facility seemed to reverberate through his bones. He couldn’t see his captor yet, but the pressure against his back, the roughness of the hands holding him in place, told him they were in control. He needed to think quickly, but the adrenaline coursing through his veins clouded his thoughts.

“Let go of me!” Daniel grunted, twisting in the grip, but the hold tightened.

“Not so fast,” a voice hissed from the shadows. It was low and cold, a voice Daniel didn’t recognize. He felt his stomach drop. They had been cornered.

Before he could react, the figure stepped closer, and the dim light revealed a man in a worn uniform, his face masked with a cold expression. He wore a helmet, but there was no mistaking the malice in his eyes.

“I should have known you’d make it this far,” the man said, his voice laced with a chilling calmness. “But you’ve made a big mistake, coming here.”

“Who are you?” Daniel demanded, his voice trembling but determined. “What is this place?”

The man’s lips twisted into a smile, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “You really have no idea, do you? You’ve been poking around for too long. This facility wasn’t meant to be found. Now, you’re in deeper than you realize.”

Daniel tried to push himself free, but the man’s grip was unyielding. “What’s down here?” he asked again, his voice urgent. “What’s really happening?”

The man leaned in closer, his breath cold against Daniel’s ear. “You’re asking the wrong questions. It’s not about what’s down here, but who’s been pulling the strings. They’ve been waiting for you.”

Daniel’s mind raced. They? Who were they? And why had he been dragged into this? His thoughts were interrupted by the sudden sound of footsteps approaching from the hallway.

“Don’t bother struggling,” the man said, pushing Daniel harder into the wall. “We’ve got everything we need from you. The rest is just a formality.”

A second figure appeared from the shadows—a woman this time, her expression masked by a black hood. She looked at Daniel with detached interest before addressing the man. “Is he the one who’s been snooping around?”

“He’s the one,” the man replied.

The woman turned to Daniel, her eyes narrowing. “You’ve seen too much. And now you’re part of this.”

Before Daniel could process her words, she reached out and placed something cold against his neck. There was a sharp pain, and everything went black.
